Casting Alert: Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone’s debut film, to be Krishna-Draupadi!

Currently, two mythological films are being talked about in Bollywood – first Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana and second Madhu Mantena’s Mahabharata. It is now reported that Hrithik Roshan may play the role of Lord Krishna in Madhu Mantena’s Mahabharata.

Deepika Padukone is already playing the role of Draupadi in the film. The film is based on Chitra Banerjee’s book The Palace of Illusions which tells the story of Mahabharata from Draupadi’s side.

Significantly, Krishna and Draupadi were best friends. When the Pandavas lost to Draupadi at stake in the game of Chaupad, the Kauravas had Draupadi rip off at a packed assembly in Hastinapur.

During this time, Draupadi grew tired of seeking help from every man present in the assembly and finally remembered her friend Sakrishna for help. According to the Purana, after the call of Draupadi, the misery, tired of dragging Draupadi’s sari, but the sari did not end.

Now it has to be seen whether Deepika and Hrithik put this friendship of Draupadi and Krishna on screen. By the way, we also have some good casting suggestions for this Mahabharata.

Duryodhana – Ranveer Singh

Ever since Ranveer Singh has played the role of Alauddin Khilji, the negative role certainly fits more on him. Duryodhana was the eldest of the Kauravas and the founder of Draupadi’s rip-off. Duryodhana’s ambition was the cause of the Mahabharata war.\

Dushasana – Vicky Kaushal

Vicky Kaushal will be seen in the role of Aurangzeb in Takht. In such a situation, his negative side can come out in this role more openly. Duryodhana was the younger brother of Duryodhana who brought Draupadi to the assembly of Hastinapur by the hair. In the Kurukshetra war, Bhima drank the blood of Dushasan’s chest.

Yudhishthira – Sushant Singh Rajput

Yudhishthira was the eldest brother of the Pandavas. Yudhishthira was the one to place Draupadi at stake, after losing the game of Chaupar to the Kauravas.

Bhima – Prabhas

Bhima was the most powerful of the Pandavas, and Prabhas would be cast on the role. In the war of Mahabharata, Bhima had avenged Draupadi’s incursion by killing sorrow and Duryodhana.

Ranbir Kapoor – Arjun

Arjuna won Draupadi in a Swayamvara by targeting the fish’s eye. But when he brought Draupadi home, he only told Kunti that look what I brought. Kunti ordered him without seeing that whoever brought him, he should distribute the five brothers and thus, Draupadi became the wife of the five Pandavas.

Nakula – Sahadev

Vikrant Massey and Ishan Khattar could prove to be good selections for this role. Nakula and Sahadeva were the youngest of the Pandavas.

Bhishma Pitamah

When Draupadi was ripped off, she called for help from everyone in a packed meeting but no one came forward to help Draupadi. Draupadi also questioned Bhishma Pitamah during this period, but Bhishma had pledged to obey the king of Hastinapur.

Dhritarashtra – Amitabh Bachchan

Dhritarashtra was the king of Hastinapur and the father of the Kauravas who was blind from birth. He ignored every request of Draupadi in Putra Moh.

Gandhari – Radhika Apte

Radhika Apte’s perfect fit for the role of Gandhari. Gandhari was Dhritarashtra’s wife and the mother of the leading villain Duryodhana. Gandhari could see, but due to her husband’s disabilities, she also tied a bandage on her eyes forever.

Shakuni – Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Shakuni was the brother of Gandhari. Shakuni settled in Hastinapur after Dhritarashtra and Gandhari’s marriage. Here he always used to incite the Kauravas against the Pandavas. The game of Chaupar was due to Shakuni.

Kunti – Tabu

Kunti was the mother of the Pandavas and Karna. It was Kunti’s mistake that the Pandavas had to marry Draupadi.
